In the Memorial Brick Garden at Motts Military Museum, we recently placed a beautiful monument in a special section to honor the Marines of Lima Company who served so heroically in Iraq 10 years ago. In addition, we installed bricks to honor those 26 who were K.I.A. during that deployment. Those who returned will be having a reunion this August and will visit the museum for our annual dedication ceremony on August 8, 2015 at 10:00 am.

As you know, each year we honor veterans and active duty military personnel whose names have been added to our brick garden. Our ceremony has always been well attended and received, but this year’s promises to be the biggest and best one yet. We will dedicate a special monument to Lima Company on the 10th anniversary of their sacrifice in Iraq. We will have bricks laid in honor of all 26 Marines K.I.A. and also honoring those who returned. We hope to have a number of those veterans in attendance. We will also have on display their new outdoor traveling exhibit: As a part of our ceremony, the Order of the Purple Heart will dedicate a new memorial to Sgt. William Brown, one of only three of George Washington’s men from the American Revolutionary War to receive the “Badge Of Military Merit” which is the precursor of the Purple Heart.

This year’s dedication ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 10:00 am. Please download the order form below, to purchase one or more bricks to honor your special veterans and plan to attend this moving ceremony.

We are currently taking orders for engraved bricks to honor U.S. Honorably Discharged Veterans and current U.S. Military Members in good standing. This is a great opportunity to honor a military family member or a friend that has served our country with dignity and courage. You will also ensure their legacy continues for future generations to appreciate.
